INTRODUCTION TO PHOTO TRANSFER

WED. APRIL 10 9:30-1, and FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 9-3.

 Learn the many methods of transferring photographic or print images to watercolor paper, fabric, tiles, and other surfaces using b/w or color laser copies and ink jet transparencies with solvents, gels and mediums. Explore original techniques for creating transparent effects and the exciting possibilities created by layering transparent images with paint, text, pattern, wax, gold leaf and collage. Now in a two day format!

Includes all materials plus coffee, juice and snacks! All for $95 USD or equivalent MXP!

Linda will be teaching "Building Imagery: Photo  Transfer and Pronto Plate Lithography" July 7-12, 2013 at Cullowhee Mountain Arts, in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.

The exhibit, The Sexuality Spectrum, at the Museum , Hebrew Union College, features 3 of Linda's art works. The exhibit is on through June 23, 2013.

She will introduce techniques such as creative backgrounds, combining drawing and painting with your transfers, and adding text. This class is 1 1/2 days.  $95

 Learn various simple book structures and review photo transfer techniques. Emphasis will be placed on combining and layering images, text and concept. Make your own artist book and then collaborate with the other participants to create a second book filled with images from the class. This is "bound" to be an exciting workshop! Transferring Images to Unique Surfaces: 

China, glass, tile and more

Create your image using photo transfer techniques. Using waterslide decal paper especially made for ceramics and glass, transfer your personal image to a plate, tile or glass object.  Guaranteed to be a fun day!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 — 11:00 to 5:00
The Art of Photo Transfer – Accordion Book Style with Linda Soberman.
Learn how to transfer photographic or other images onto papers and then apply these images to an accordion book. This method utilizes photo copies and allows you to manipulate and create ethereal/artistic images from any picture.  It is a process you can use to incorporate into a wide range of book forms or combine with other media or create unique art pieces.  In this class you will first learn the process, have experimental time, and then use the images to create a story-line in constructing an accordion style book. Class Fee:  $85 — Materials Fee:  $15

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20 — 10:00 to 5:00
Advanced Photo Transfers Techniques with Linda Soberman.
This workshop teaches more advanced techniques in transfering photographic imagery onto paper, metal, fabric, plexiglass, and more.  Utilizing black and white photo and color (Xerox) copies, you will learn how to easily manipulate and create artistic images from any picture. An earlier class or some experience in the process is recommended for this class.  Students will review the process and then experiment with collage, hand coloring, gold leaf, and other advanced techniques.
Class Fee:  $85 — Materials Fee:  $15
